The Mid Island Branch was formed more than thirty years ago, and currently has over forty members. Our branch represents members from Duncan Ladysmith, Chemainus, Nanaimo, Nanoose, Parksville, Qualicum, Port Alberni and Lasqueti Island.
The aim of our association is to encourage and provide the highest possible caliber of music education and to promote quality music in our communities.
The Mid-Island Branch sponsors:
Student recitals throughout the year
Student Master classes with distinguished teachers
Training workshops for Branch members
Bursaries and Book awards for deserving students
Coordination of annual events for Canada Music Week
An Annual Music Writing competition adjudicated by a distinguished composer
We Provide assistance to:
The Royal Conservatory of Music Examination center
The music community through various Arts Councils
The Upper Island Music Festival
The B.C. Music Writing Competition
