Requirements for Student Auxiliary Members

  1. B.C. Resident

  2. Age: 16 years minimum

  3. Completed the Grade 9 Certificate (Practical & Theory) from RCM Exams or equivalent institution.

  4. Actively studying with a bona fide member of BCRMTA (in the subject that the Auxiliary member is currently teaching) with the goal of achieving a diploma/degree that leads to full membership as an RMT.

Optional Guidelines/programs provided by the Branch:

  1. Each Branch may set a limit on the number of years of membership allowed in the Student Teacher Auxiliary of their branch.

  2. Each Branch may make further stipulations with regard to attendance at meetings and/or participation in order to qualify for membership.  The Branch may also require that the Student Teacher Auxiliary have a working executive to act as liaisons with the main Branch.

  3. Each Branch may decide how much involvement in the Branch business/events will be allowed for Student Teacher Auxiliary members, e.g. attendance at Branch meetings, participation in Branch-sponsored festivals, recitals, workshops, etc.

  4. Each Branch may set their own fee for Student Teacher Auxiliary members according to the activities being offered. This fee is over and above the $30. Provincial Fee.
