Requirements for Student Auxiliary Members

B.C. Resident

Age: 16 years minimum

Completed the Grade 9 Certificate (Practical & Theory) from RCM Exams or
equivalent institution.

Actively studying with a bona fide member of BCRMTA (in the subject that
the Auxiliary member is currently teaching) with the goal of achieving a
diploma/degree that leads to full membership as an RMT.
Optional Guidelines/programs provided by the Branch:

Each Branch may set a limit on the number of years of membership allowed
in the Student Teacher Auxiliary of their branch.

Each Branch may make further stipulations with regard to attendance at
meetings and/or participation in order to qualify for membership. The Branch
may also require that the Student Teacher Auxiliary have a working executive
to act as liaisons with the main Branch.

Each Branch may decide how much involvement in the Branch business/events
will be allowed for Student Teacher Auxiliary members, e.g. attendance at
Branch meetings, participation in Branch-sponsored festivals, recitals,
workshops, etc.

Each Branch may set their own fee for Student Teacher Auxiliary members
according to the activities being offered. This fee is over and above the $30.
